General

What services does Travel Tijuana provide?

Two separate services.

The Tijuana Weekend Experience gets you to Tijuana for the weekend and home again, on a set schedule:

  • Bay Area home pickup
  • transportation to the departure airport
  • San Diego airport pickup
  • cross-border transportation
  • hotel nights
  • a scheduled night ride downtown and back on Friday and Saturday nights
  • a ride home after the return flight

$599 per guest Early Bird, or $699 Regular. Your time in Tijuana is your own — what you eat, drink, buy, or do there is separate.

Medical Travel Coordination arranges rides and hotel nights around a dental or medical appointment you book with a clinic in Tijuana, beginning at San Diego International Airport and priced by quote.

We don't sell flights, and we don't provide medical care.

Are flights included?

Sorry, no — flights aren't included in either service.

  • You book your own flights between the Bay Area and San Diego.
  • For the Tijuana Weekend Experience, please wait until we confirm your trip before you buy a ticket.
Where does the ground transportation begin?

For both services, we handle the transportation on the U.S. side, the border crossing in both directions, and the ride from San Diego airport to your hotel and back.

Only the starting point differs:

  • Weekend Experience — it begins at your Bay Area address. We pick you up before your departure flight and drive you home after your return flight lands.
  • Medical Travel — it begins at San Diego International Airport, where we meet your flight.

Getting around Tijuana once you're at your hotel is mostly up to you. The Weekend Experience includes a scheduled night ride from your hotel to the downtown meeting point and back on Friday and Saturday nights; beyond that, where you go in the city is your own plan. On Medical Travel, you can ask us for rides between your hotel and the clinic — your confirmed itinerary lists exactly which rides are covered.

In both cases, you book your own flight.

What documents do I need?

Bringing the right documents is your responsibility. In short:

  • Every traveler must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder). This applies to both services.
  • Carry what you need to enter Mexico and re-enter the United States — for example, a valid passport, plus your green card if you're a permanent resident. Every traveler in your party needs their own.
  • Check official U.S. and Mexican government guidance for your situation before you travel.

We can't give immigration advice, and we can't promise that any particular document will be enough.

When do I pay?

Not when you send a request.

  • Your weekend is confirmed first — usually on the spot — with the dates, the schedule, your hotel, and your price, and your payment link arrives by email and text.
  • You pay with that link, by card or Zelle.
  • Early Bird bookings must be paid by 1:00 PM Pacific time on the Wednesday before the trip, or the Regular price applies.
  • Every booking must be paid by 1:00 PM Pacific time on the Friday of the trip, or it expires and the seat is released.
What happens if a flight is delayed or missed?

Text us right away at 650-456-9999.

  • Every leg — including your Bay Area pickup and the ride home — is planned around confirmed flights, so we need to know as soon as possible.
  • We'll work with you on next steps, but a replacement ride isn't automatic.
  • Rebooking, refunds, and other arrangements follow your confirmed booking terms.
Can the confirmed hotel be changed?

Not without your clear approval.

  • Before payment, we may offer you an alternative hotel — always named, so you know exactly what you're choosing.
  • If you say no, you keep the standard hotel and your price doesn't change.
  • Once a hotel is confirmed in your itinerary, it stays your hotel unless you approve a change.

Tijuana Weekend Experience

Who is the Weekend Experience currently available to?

Right now, the Weekend Experience is available only to travelers who meet both of these:

  • You live in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Every traveler is a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder)

That's the current service area and eligibility — the whole itinerary, from home pickup to the ride home, is coordinated around it.

Is transportation from my Bay Area address included?

Yes. Your weekend begins at your Bay Area address:

  • Before your departure flight, we pick you up and take you to the confirmed departure airport.
  • After your return flight, we meet you at the Bay Area airport and drive you home.

Both legs are included in the package price. We'll confirm your pickup address, airport, flight schedule, and transportation times before payment.

What happens after my return flight arrives?

Your ride home is part of the package.

  • We coordinate it around your confirmed return flight, meet you at the Bay Area airport, and drive you to your address.
  • If your flight changes or is delayed, text us right away so we can review next steps — replacement transportation isn't automatic.
Which Bay Area airport will I use?

Any Bay Area airport works — we'll drive you to the one you choose.

  • The suggested Friday flights are listed on the Tijuana Weekend page.
  • Your departure and return airports are confirmed with your itinerary before you buy anything.
How much does the Weekend Experience cost?

$599 per guest Early Bird, or $699 per guest Regular.

  • Early Bird applies when your request reaches us by 11:59 AM Pacific time on the Wednesday before your weekend. Requests received Wednesday noon or later are Regular.
  • An Early Bird booking must be paid by 1:00 PM Pacific time that same Wednesday. After that, the Regular price applies. Every booking must be paid by 1:00 PM Pacific time on the Friday of the trip, or it expires and the seat is released.
  • One hotel night or two, the price is the same.
  • Your price tier is set by when your request reaches us, and it's shown with your booking. It changes only if you move your booking to a different weekend (which gets that weekend's price), or if an Early Bird booking isn't paid by 1:00 PM Pacific time on the Wednesday (then the Regular price applies).
  • Flights are not included, and neither is what you spend in Tijuana.
What is included in the price?

Included:

  • Pickup at your Bay Area address and a ride to the confirmed departure airport
  • Pickup at San Diego International Airport when your supported flight lands
  • Transportation from San Diego into Tijuana
  • Help at the border crossing, both ways
  • A ride to your hotel
  • One or two hotel nights, set by the confirmed weekend schedule
  • Night ride on Friday and Saturday — one scheduled ride from your confirmed hotel to the downtown Tijuana meeting point and one scheduled ride back
  • Scheduled return transportation from Tijuana to San Diego International Airport for your flight home
  • A ride home from the Bay Area airport after your return flight lands
  • A real person coordinating your confirmed itinerary

Not included:

  • Flights — you book your own
  • Food and drinks
  • Bars and clubs — entry, tables, and whatever you order
  • Things you choose to do: activities, tours, and day trips
  • Rides around Tijuana that aren't on your confirmed schedule — a private car, extra stops, or rides at other times
  • Hotel incidentals, room service, minibar, and other hotel purchases
  • Shopping, tips, and anything else you buy while you're there
  • Medical or dental services
  • Optional add-ons — arranged and paid for separately from the package
Which flight should I book?

The Tijuana Weekend page lists the suggested Friday flights — they work for every weekend we offer.

  • They're suggestions, not requirements: a flight may not run on your exact date, so check availability before you book.
  • Whichever flight you choose — any Bay Area airport, any airline that arrives in time — we drive you to your departure airport and meet you in San Diego.
  • Wait until we confirm your trip before buying.
Should I book a flight before requesting the weekend?

No. Wait until Travel Tijuana confirms your trip before you buy. If you buy a ticket that doesn't match the confirmed weekend schedule, we may not be able to meet your flight.

How many hotel nights are included?

One or two, depending on the supported schedule for your weekend.

  • The price is the same either way.
  • You can tell us which you'd prefer on the request form, and we confirm the final schedule by text.
Which hotel is included?

The standard hotel is City Express by Marriott Tijuana Río, in Zona Río, Tijuana.

  • We choose practical, well-located hotels: clean, easy to reach, and in a part of the city that works for your trip.
  • It appears by name in your confirmed itinerary before you pay — never after.
  • Before payment, we may offer a different named hotel for you to consider. A change only happens with your clear approval.
Are hotel extras like room service and the minibar included?

Your hotel room is included in the package. Not included:

  • Room service
  • Minibar purchases
  • Incidentals
  • Damage charges
  • Other hotel purchases

The hotel may ask for a credit or debit card at check-in for incidentals.

Can I request a different hotel?

You can ask in the notes on your request.

  • Sometimes we may offer an alternative hotel ourselves before payment — always by name.
  • Any change happens only with your clear approval, and saying no never changes your price or what's included.
How do I get downtown at night, and back to the hotel?

Yes — a scheduled night ride is included on Friday and Saturday nights, out and back.

  • It leaves your confirmed hotel at the time in your confirmed itinerary and drops the group at the downtown Tijuana meeting point.
  • From there until the return, your time is your own — walk around, eat, go out, meet friends.
  • Be back at the same meeting point by the meetup time. The ride back leaves at the time in your itinerary, from that spot only — it doesn't stop anywhere else.
  • It's shared with the other guests, it runs once each way each night, and it's optional — use it or skip it. There's no night ride on other nights.

The night ride runs on the confirmed schedule. If you miss it — on the way out or on the way back — you'll need to arrange your own local transportation.

Want your own car, your own stops, and your own timing? That's not part of the night ride — local rides are yours to arrange, and a Private Driver add-on is coming.

Are food, drinks, or nights out included?

The ride downtown and back is — what you do while you're out isn't. The price covers getting you there, your hotel, the scheduled night ride downtown and back on Friday and Saturday nights, and getting you home.

Yours to choose and yours to pay for:

  • Food and drinks
  • Bars and clubs, including cover charges
  • Activities and day trips
  • Tips
  • Anything else you buy

Optional add-ons for some of it are coming soon — see the Tijuana Weekend page.

Is the weekend guided? What do we actually do there?

The free time is really free — there's no group tour, no fixed activity list, and nobody from Travel Tijuana walking around with you.

  • We set the frame of the trip: the schedule, the transportation, the hotel, and a confirmed plan in writing.
  • You choose what you do in the city: food, neighborhoods, nightlife, shopping, a day trip to the coast.
Can you help me find things to do in Tijuana?

We're building a set of optional add-on products you'll be able to buy alongside your weekend:

  • Nightlife Package — a night at a participating venue with something included
  • Rosarito Beach Day — a planned round trip to the beach with a scheduled ride back
  • Valle de Guadalupe Day — a full-day round trip to wine country, with the driving handled
  • Beach Stay Upgrade — a hotel by the beach instead of the standard hotel
  • Private Driver — a car and driver for 4 or 8 hours
  • Tijuana Food Experience — three stops with food included, and the rides between
  • Private Transfer Upgrade — make one included transfer private and direct

They're all coming soon while we finalize local partners. Each one gets its price when it goes on sale, on the Tijuana Weekend page — none of them can be bought yet, and none of them is needed. The weekend works on its own, and plenty of guests will book none of them.

Medical Travel

Does Travel Tijuana provide medical treatment?

No. We're not a clinic.

  • We don't give medical advice, recommend providers or procedures, or promise anything about results.
  • You choose your clinic and arrange your care directly with them.
  • We handle the travel: airport pickup, the border, rides, and your hotel.
Who can use Medical Travel?

Anyone who can get themselves to San Diego International Airport — you don't have to live in the Bay Area.

  • The one rule: every traveler must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder), because the trip crosses into Mexico and comes back through the U.S. border.
  • You'll confirm this on the request form.
Do I need to choose my clinic before requesting transportation?

No — you can send a request while you're still deciding.

  • If you already have a clinic or an appointment time, include it on the form so we can plan around it.
  • Choosing the clinic and booking the appointment is always yours to do.
Can transportation be coordinated around my appointment?

Yes — that's the point of the service.

  • We plan your arrival, hotel nights, and return around your appointment date.
  • Transportation between your hotel and the clinic can be included when the schedule supports it.
  • Your confirmed itinerary lists exactly which rides are covered.
How is Medical Travel pricing calculated?

Every medical trip is quoted on its own. The price depends on:

  • your dates
  • how many hotel nights you need
  • your appointment schedule
  • which rides you need

Send the request form and we'll text you a quote. Flights are never included.
